We can quack it!

Rosie the Riveter is a work of art and a popular symbol of culture and feminism. The name comes from the character Rosie, who appears in the artwork “We Can Do It!” is portrayed by J. Howard Miller from 1942. Rosie wears a jumpsuit and shows herself to be a strong and self-confident woman who is willing to do hard work.

The artwork was originally produced by Westinghouse Electric Corporation for a poster campaign to motivate and encourage women workers in their factories while men were at war in World War II. The character Rosie became a symbol for the millions of women who entered the working world during the war and made important contributions to winning the war.
